November 2020 (3rd week) Comic Book Sales Charts and Figures

The 3rd week of November saw sales returning to the 87 sales volume as seen in the last few weeks of November. With increased economic uncertainty and no stimulus cheques on the way, a slow down of the sales volume is to be expected.

  • 33% of newsstand comics sold are sold at $10 and below prices. 40% of these sales are related to Spider-Man issues that have no significance. The rest are a pretty mixed bag. Even prominent titles such as Batman and Star Wars took less than 10% each for this price category’s market share.
  • 39% of newsstand sales are sold between $11 and $30. Batman dominated this category as it accounts for 38% of the total sales. This is followed by Star Wars which took 17%, as well as Spider-man and X-Men which took 15% each.
  • 16% of newsstand sales are sold between $30 and $100. At this higher price category, Star Wars took the crown as it occupied 50% of the sales here. This is probably due to the Mandalorian series sparkling the speculation heat among collectors.
  • 8% of newsstand sales are sold above $100. Only 7 issues this week saw sales about the $100 mark. There is however one 4 digit sales.

Below are the top 10 newsstand sales for the week.

What if #105

Copies sold: 1
Average Sales: $148

What if #105 makes its 8th entry into the charts after making its 7th just 2 weeks ago. While popular, this book’s newsstand premium isn’t as huge as some of the other books in this list.

In this case, the sale is for a CGC 9.0 and it went for $148. When compared to a direct edition 9.0, there isn’t too much difference. Hence, for this sale, the small newsstand premium is still

The final new entry this week is also a Star Wars book and it is Star Wars Tales #7. This book features the first appearance of Boba Fett’s daughter, Ailyn Vel. Everything Boba Fett is hot now so it is not surprising to see this book here.
